Magical London Concert
From the morning I was really excited about the concert, I woke up and started singing "baa ham" subconciously. I couldn't wait until the night and had my Googoosh CD's playing since the morning. As the day went by I remembered my first time that I went to a Googoosh concert, it was in January 2000, I was only thirteen then but I loved her so much and it was the most fantastic experience I had ever had, I remember her coming on stage with so many outfits and looking great. Now seven years on and I was going to be experiencing it all again and thought to myself how lucky I am to be going to her concert, and this time with more love for her than ever. I had recharged my camera from the night before and was all ready to go for the night, I even knew what I was going to be wearing to the concert!
The wait was over and as I was driving to Hammersmith Apollo I had the Manifest album playing in the background whilst my parents were talking about how excited they were, and trying to guess what songs they thought she would sing!
As we arrived at the venue a big smile appeared on my face when I saw her name on the door, it was so surreal.
As she came on stage my heart started to beat faster and faster and I was so happy, her voice was as FANTASTIC as always and she looked BEAUTIFUL.
The songs she sang were:
Talagh
Otaghe Man
Medley:
- Hejrat
- Dow Panjereh
- Baavar Kon
- Oon Manam
- Harf
Man Aamadeam
Pol
Akharin Khabar
Aye Mardom Mordam
Gole Bi Goldoon
Sakineh Dieghezi
Ahooyeh Eshgh
Kavir
Nasleh Maa
Mano Gonjishkayeh Khooneh
Medley:
- Hamsafar
- Gharibeh Ashena
- Mano Tow
- Kooh
- Bemoon Taa Bemoonam
Makhloogh
Medley:
- Love Story
- Mi Son Chiesta Tanto Volte
- Malaguena
- Retour de la Ville
Daryaie
Medley:
- Nimayeh Gomshodaye Man
- Nemiaad
- Kaj Kolah khan
Shenaasnameyeh Man
After a few songs I went up at the end of a song whilst everyone was cheering her and gave her the bouquet of flowers I had bought for her and she smiled at me which automatically made me smile back and said "I love you Googoosh".
It was time for her to go and and the crowd gave a standing ovation cheering her on and you could hear "We love you Googoosh", and "Googoosh, Googoosh, Googoosh..." in the background.
She looked as great as ever, and throughout the night I was so busy taking photos and singing along with her at the same time that before I knew it it was over, but I left there with over 300 pictures and an awesome memory that I will treasure forever.
I wish the night could have lasted forever, all those days of counting up to the concert had finally come and it was just as I imagined it. It was magical.
It definitely made my year, and was the best experience I had since the first concert I went to in 2000, now I'm twenty and I love her even more than when I was thirteen and I can't wait until I go to my next Googoosh concert. I love you Googoosh, more than ever.

Vive La Googoosh
From Toronto, Canada
She was back, but this time not alone, to a city that never left her side, a city that captured her in her very first and every come back since. Toronto welcomed Googoosh on June 3, 2006 in a sold out concert at the Air Canada Centre.
The concert began at 9pm sharp with "Talagh" playing and the dance of lights, blue to be more precise, that took [everyone's] breath away. A few minutes later, Googoosh entered the stage with utter beauty. Mention of the city that felt like home, she thanked her fans for applauding her presence and appreciating her existence.
Googoosh was indeed not the same as I had seen her in Toronto 6 years earlier, not even the same as I saw her in LA less than a year ago. She melted the crowd and melted into the crowd. She took us all by surprise, not for one minute did she stop showing us talent that crazed minds. It was empowering to hear the entire Air Canada Centre sing with her song by song, melody by melody. It was mind-blowing to see her dance and make her moves with every turn.
My most favorite moment was when she showed her true artistic side, that is hard to find even in today's Hollywood; upon finishing her latest ballad, "Ey mardom mordam", and crying out for what she and other Iranian women have gone through, she sang "Man Amadeam" with such a dance and suach a display of beauty that is her signature and hers alone! She turned songs into memories and refreshed memories with moves from the past and reminded us all how the past indeed was glorious. The future however seems to be bright as well!
To those few that have never been to her concert, I suggest experiencing the uplifting three hours that no one can forget. And to those that have gone to her concerts, I suggest you go again because in the past 5 concerts that I have attended, she has matured and proven to be better every time, over the last.
One thing worth mentioning, the cool, that Toronto fans always manage to display towards Googoosh did not go unnoticed and the Persian Diva herself mentioned the unfathomable comfort she feels when she visits Toronto and that Torontonians give her utter love that she so deserves.
The stunning reality that captured me was the demographics in the audience. Children as young as 5 were sitting right beside me singing her hardest to sing ballad, "Ay mardom mordam", while teenagers were seen engulfed by her sheer presence. One teenager took the stage to present Googoosh with a bouquet of flowers. There were grandmothers and grandfathers, and there were young adults. Everyone had came to witness the very best Iran has to offer: Googoosh.
She brought the crowd to their feet and danced with their emotions like wind... The believer of love once more enforced her very will on the stage... Canada was on Air as the Queen of Persia ruled the entire Air Canada Centre... It was indeed Googoosh night in Toronto, in Canada, and around the world...

Catharsis Queen: Loving the cruel world with Googoosh

I
was halfway through my interview with Persian pop princess

WHAT AN INCREDIBLY TALENTED WOMAN!!!! ...She still amazes
me, after all these years...
She gave an incredible performance that included 3 songs in English,
3 songs in Turkish, an AMAZING rendition of an Spanish song. Her old
favorite Iranian songs sounded as wonderful as ever. One or two songs
were even given a new lease in life by extending them with new alternative
lyrics, that I had never heard before!!!...Click

Iran's caged songbird/Wildly
popular singer suppressed for 21 years
Jonathan Curiel, Chronicle Staff

It was going to be another chance
for fans to see the legendary Iranian singer named Googoosh,
but the U.S.-led war on terrorism has had unintended
consequences on Tehran's most popular artists, who are
finding it almost impossible to practice their craft
in the United States. Googoosh was scheduled to perform
Saturday at the Arena in Oakland, at a concert expected
to draw a capacity crowd of thousands. Instead, she sits
at home still waiting for her visa request to be approved
by the U.S. State Department. The concert has been canceled...Click to Read
